Job Overview:

The Senior Database Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance database systems to support the organization’s data needs. This role requires advanced technical expertise, a deep understanding of database management, and the ability to lead complex database projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Design and Development:
    • Design and develop complex database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures to support business applications.
    • Optimize and tune database performance to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
  2. Data Management and Integration:
    • Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into the database.
    • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across multiple databases and systems.
  3. Performance Tuning and Optimization:
    • Analyze and optimize SQL queries and database structures to improve performance.
    • Implement and maintain indexing, partitioning, and other techniques to enhance database efficiency.
  4. Database Security and Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce database security measures to protect sensitive data.
    • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
  5. Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with application developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide technical solutions.
    • Provide support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.
  6. Documentation and Best Practices:
    • Create and maintain detailed documentation for database designs, procedures, and best practices.
    • Establish and promote best practices for database development and management within the team.
  7. Project Leadership:
    • Lead and participate in database development projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.
    • Mentor and support junior developers and team members, providing guidance and sharing expertise.
  8. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with emerging database technologies, trends, and best practices.
    • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance database performance and functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) preferred.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in database development and management, with a strong track record of designing and optimizing complex database systems.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
    • Advanced knowledge of database design, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
    • Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and database troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with database security practices and compliance requirements.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This role involves identifying new business opportunities, fostering relationships with potential clients and partners, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:

    • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company goals and revenue targets.
    • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and potential business opportunities.
  2. Lead Generation and Acquisition:

    • Identify and pursue new business leads and opportunities through networking, cold calling, and industry events.
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients and partners.
  3. Client and Partner Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners.
    • Negotiate and close business deals, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
